DJ Slater is the founder of DJ's Court Tourney, which he started in his parents' driveway in the summer of 2000. Originally planned as a way to create a competitive basketball event amongst friends, the tourney now honors Slater's friend and Franklin High School basketball standout Christine Rathke.

Outside of the tournament, Slater serves as the publicity coordinator at DeanHouston, a marketing firm based in Covington, Kentucky. He is a UW-Eau Claire graduate with a BA in journalism and history.

Hobbies include basketball (naturally), creative writing, singing, acting (he dabbles in community theater from time to time) and spending time with his family. He is also a movie buff, able to recite lines from a variety of films on the spot. His love for sports extends to several area teams, including the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers. As for the full uniforms, well, that's a story better told in person.
